Planning the trip
How do you start planning a trip like this? First things first, decide if you're going, let's skip that part and just buy a car. Oh dear Milan just spent an exorbitant amount of money on a strange looking landrover. It's a custom made 130 TD5, so while Milan was rearing to go I was still skeptical, took me a while and two trips to Tanzania to convince myself. In the meantime the Landy sat idle in the garage only getting taken out every so often. So what's next? We have a car that's got more extras than Lara Croft's tomb raider mobile, we have a vague idea of where and when we want to go, let's start making a route, that got sorted fairly quickly. Now onto getting the car finished and all the gear, this is where we have ended up creating a huge excel spreadsheet of everything we need.
We are not going to bore you with what we did in the planning stage and where we got our kit from.
