We are a pair of travellers planning on driving from Switzerland to Cape Town and back. Louise, that's my girlfriend, she's from Sweden and will be doing most of the writing. Milan, that's me, I'm a Kiwi. After having worked in offices for the past several years, we want a break from the hectic world of business and to slow things down a little. So we are heading to Africa. My parents drove my sister and I from Switzerland to Kenya when I was 14 and I've never forgotten the trip, it was one of the best things I've ever done. I'm hoping to relive some of the experiences. Some of the things that I am really looking forward to is going back to see the beaches, Grand Popo in Benin and Kribi in Cameroon. We are also very keen photographers, so we will hopefully be able to show you some of the beauty of the continent through a lens. I have been wanting to do this for quite a few years, it took a while to convince Louise but now she's on board, it's all go.

We left Zurich on the 9th of April, we will begin our journey by crossing Europe to the southern tip of Spain, stopping to visit friends on the way. After that it's onto the continent via a short ferry ride to Morocco where we will begin the fairly standard western route of Africa to the Cape. Once at the Cape we will turn around and follow the eastern route back up, most likely crossing back into Europe from Tunisia.
